About our school

Lennox Head Public School is situated in an expanding beachside village on the far North Coast.

The school opened in 1882 with 54 students and has grown in size to 460 students in 2024. Lennox Head Public School seeks to develop each child as an individual according to their abilities, provides care and support through the creation of a trusting environment and is part of a learning community preparing children to meet the challenges of the future.

Our vibrant school offers extensive, academic, sporting and cultural opportunities for your child.

Our dedicated and highly qualified teachers deliver quality programs, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.  We challenge and inspire our students.  Consistently high results in Australia wide testing is evidence of our success.  We pride ourselves on our comprehensive sport program which concentrates on fun, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.  Our extensive arts program includes our band, choir and dance group that perform regularly at community, state and national events. 

Our students build social skills through our three key values of respect, responsibility and integrity through peer support and leadership initiatives.  Our Student Representative Council gives every child the opportunity to participate in school decision making while fostering lasting friendships across year groups.  All students participate in our public speaking program which develops confidence and communication skills.

Our school is a leader in technology. This includes interactive classrooms, modern computers and and our Technology Centre enhances student learning.

Our students learn sustainable and environmental values through targeted programs within the school's spacious surroundings, the neighbouring pristine beach and lake area.
